GOOD: Madrid have reportedly agree to pay Liverpool flop\s buyout clause
Due to Rodrigo Moreno's
massive buyout clause, Los Blancos are ready to sign 31-year old striker Iago
Aspas.
Real Madrid may finally
give fans what they wanted, and their main transfer target is a man that was
recently praised at the Bernabeu.
According to a report by
Spanish TV show El Chiringuito, Los Blancos have agreed terms to sign
31-year-old striker Iago Aspas. The report revealed that Florentino Pérez will
negotiate with Celta Vigo the payment of the player's buyout clause, which
currently stands at $46 million.
Initially, Real Madrid were
keen on signing Rodrigo Moreno from Valencia, but his buyout clause of over
$138M made Los Blancos' hierarchy to think twice about the transfer. Given that
Aspas' transfer fee wasn't as expensive as Moreno's, Real Madrid execs may be
able to seal this deal before the end of the week.
The Spanish footballer is seen
as a good option by coach Julen Lopetegui. The former Spain boss called up
Aspas frequently during his time with La Roja, and his playing style would fit
right in with what he has in mind for Los Blancos.
Aspas has played most of
his career for Celta, where he's scored over 100 goals. He also played for
Sevilla and Liverpool, where he's remembered by that infamous corner that ended
in Gerrard's slip and a goal for Chelsea.
