OMG: Mane injury, Robertson talks with Klopp, Coutinho to Barca verdict
Sadio Mane is back in Liverpool after
being sent home early from international duty.
Mane is only recently back
from a hamstring injury. And he's now suffered a recurrence of the problem
playing for Senegal and they've sent him back to England for an assessment from
the Kop club's medical staff.
A statement from the Senegal
Football Federation read: "Following the match, South Africa against
Senegal Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 in Polokwane, the player Sadio Mane slightly felt
his old injury.
"After consultations
between the medical staff of the national team of Senegal and Liverpool it was
decided by mutual agreement to make him available to his club to continue
treatment until full recovery.''
he left-back has played just three times
for the club since a £10m move from Hull in the summer. “Of course it’s
difficult for me,” Robertson said. “I don’t make any secret of it. I hate not
playing.
“I’ve spoken to the manager
because I felt as if the settling-in period was over for me and I thought I was
ready to play. “I felt I did myself justice in the games I have played so I had
a good chat with him, he gave me a few points to work on and that’s kept me
going."
Philippe Coutinho says he's happy at
Liverpool - but Sebastien Bassong thinks he could yet change his mind over
staying at Anfield. Coutinho wanted to join Barcelona in the summer but the
Reds refused to sell.
And despite saying he's happy at Anfield, Bassong thinks he could have a change
of heart. "We all know in football that the word of today might not be the
word of tomorrow, the decision of tomorrow," the ex-Tottenham defender
said on Sky Sports News.
“I think as a Brazilian
player, a player who wants to improve his game, he might think again of going
off to Barcelona
