OMG: PSG want Morata as Cavani replacement
Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata wanted at PSG to replace departing
star Edinson Cavani
Paris St Germain are targeting a move for Alvaro Morata in the summer to compensate for the expected departure of Edinson Cavani, according to reports. The Spain striker only joined Chelsea over the summer, but already there have been rumblings about his future.
The 25-year-old recently spoke of London being a ‘stressful’ place
and that long-term he would want to return to Spain, although he quickly moved
to clarify those comments and even said he would be happy to sign a 10-year
contract at Stamford Bridge. Despite that, PSG see Morata as an ideal summer
signing according to Spanish publication Marca. Cavani, who has a testing
relationship with Neymar, is tipped to leave the Parc de Princes which will see
the mega-rich club on the look-out for a fresh addition up front.
Morata is the ideal candidate and PSG have even gone as far as
making the player and his agent ‘aware’ of the interest. Since moving to
Chelsea for £60million, the former Real Madrid and Juventus striker has scored
eight goals including the winner against Manchester United at the weekend.
