Coutinho insists he's happy at Liverpool
The
Brazil international was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona over the
summer. Coutinho, 25, handed in a transfer request in hope of landing his dream
move to the Nou Camp. Barca made three bids for the playmaker but a move did
not materialise as the Reds held firm.
And
Coutinho, speaking ahead of England's clash with Brazil on Tuesday night at
Wembley, has revealed he's happy with life at Liverpool. "I’m playing in
one of the biggest leagues in the world," Coutinho said at the pre-game press
conference.
"I’m
always happy. At the moment I am very happy with my life." Nou Camp star Luis Suarez, who spent three years at Liverpool
from 2011 to 2014, recently backed Coutinho to join Barca.
When
asked what Coutinho would bring to the La Liga giants by Spanish newspaper
Mundo Deportivo, Suarez said: “A lot. “I know him as a person and as a player
because I played with him, but everyone knows what Coutinho can contribute [at
Barca].
“He is a
footballer, who today, plays at a very high level
