Austin Jay Jay Okocha has selected Lionel Messi as the better footballer between the Argentine and his Portuguese rival Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Super Eagles legend in an interview with FIFA.com said: "I have to be diplomatic here, especially as I’ve a lot of Portuguese friends, but I tend to lean towards Messi. He’s a more natural talent"

"Ronaldo is a fantastic player, one of the best I’ve ever seen, but he’s been a bit unfortunate to be of the same generation as Messi. Consequently, they have to share the limelight," he added.

The former Bolton man compared his style of play to that of Paris Saint Germain superstar Neymar.

The 43-year-old who formerly played for PSG said his style of play was closest to that of the Brazilian forward.
